Why Builders Love Our Borate Pre-Treat!

Your Most Convenient Pre-Treat Option-
Save Time and Money!

A soil pre-treatment must be done immediately before the slab is poured. This can create significant logistical problems in trying to coordinate a pest control company and multiple subcontractors around the volatile weather conditions we have here.

Who hasn't dealt with the situation of having the concrete crew ready, but having to delay them for hours or days in order to compensate for the weather or coordinate with the pest control company. And heaven forbid, your concrete company has to dump its load of concrete elsewhere at your expense because the pest control company failed to show up on time!

With the Gen-Ex wood treatment, you can kiss these headaches goodbye for good. Our treatment can be applied anytime during the "dried in" phase of construction. When you choose our treatment, we simply post our sign at the site in order to satisfy the requirements of the local building inspector and this will allow you to pour your slab.

We then coordinate our treatment following the framing of the house.

Our Borate Treatment is an Authorized Stand-Alone Pretreat in all Florida Counties

Due to the superior effectiveness and safety of the borate wood pre-treatment (specifically the Boracare product used by Gen-Ex), it has been embraced as a stand-alone pre-treatment by the Florida Department of Agriculture, the Southern Building Code, HUD and the 2000 International Building Code with 2001 supplement (See NES Report # NER-617 at www.nateval.org) and it is authorized by all county building departments of our state.

Superior Protection for the Homeowner

As you know, the State of Florida requires all new homes to be termite pretreated. However, even with these treatments, termites cause more damage to homes in this state than storms, fires and tornadoes COMBINED.

In Florida, this has a lot to do with the fact that our sandy soil fails to bind to pre-treat chemicals.

The Gen-Ex treatment eliminates these problems, because we treat the wood rather than the soil. The borate products will remain effective inside the dry and protected walls of the home. Something your home purchasers will appreciate.

Safe Products-Crews Need Not Leave Site
and You Save time and Reduce Liability

Our borate product is, without question, the safest pre-treat product available. Borates are derived from boron, which is a natural element in the earth's crust. In fact, boron is an essential mineral for humans, necessary for hair growth and many other metabolic processes. These products have very low human toxicity, just slightly more toxic than table salt.

In contrast to virtually all of the soil treatment chemicals, the borate pre-treat products are so safe that crews need not even leave the job site during application.

And you save a full day of cycle time.

Furthermore, you, as a builder, just don't need the exposure of potential liability from chemically sensitive workers, homeowners or otherwise litigious individuals for a product applied to one of your homes during a pre-treatment. When you select Gen-Ex, you are free from this source of liability.

Peace of Mind Knowing Your Treatment was done Right

Our wood treatment is performed with marker dyes making it easy for everyone at the site to see that the treatment was properly performed. Further, Gen-Ex stands fully behind each and every pre-treatment we do, upholding the highest ethical standards, which we back up by our exceptional guaranties to the homeowner. We are proud members of the Better Business Bureau and promise you that your pre-treat will be professionally and properly applied. Our prices are fair and competitive and we have a range of products to suit both the price consciousness and the protection minded.

Treatments near Water No Longer of Concern

With soil treatments, there is always a concern of the chemicals leaching into a nearby water source. In fact, their application is actually prohibited within a certain distance of a well, pond or other body of water. Again, this concern is completely eliminated with the Gen-Ex wood treatment.

The GenEx Borate Treatment Is Not Affected by Excavation and Landscaping

Leaky water lines, improper drainage, and even the landscaping process can break the soil termiticide barrier, rendering soil pretreatments ineffective and requiring repeated soil applications. Because we treat the wood, not the soil, however, our treatment is not affected by excavation and landscaping.
