The product, Bora-Care, is based on borate, a mineral salt with extremely low human toxicity—just slightly more toxic than table salt. Indeed, boron is actually a trace mineral necessary for many life processes. Furthermore, since the product is completely non-volatile, it cannot enter the air to cause odor, allergy or any airborne exposure whatsoever. |
This treatment is performed to the wood, rather than to the soil, using a foam injection method. It is injected into the walls, in a shaving cream consistency, where it penetrates into the wood providing lasting protection. Furthermore, since the treatment is in the wood, rather than the soil, it is much longer lasting than virtually any other treatment, as long as inside dry protected walls.
The product, Boracare, utilized by Gen-Ex, contains glycols which allow the borate to penetrate deep into the wood grain, rendering this product superior to virtually all other borate products, most of which lack the essential "wood penetrants". Independent studies show that not only is Boracare treated wood inedible to termites, but it is highly repellant to them as well.
The "Plus" - Our Colony Bait Station System
Even the very best stand-alone treatments are not 100% effective under all circumstances and over time. This is why it is common practice in the industry to require a thorough inspection of your home at least once per year in order to maintain the guaranty. That, however, is just not good enough for us—termites can cause a lot of damage in 12 months.

Instead we install our colony bait station system with every treatment. The bait stations are inspected every three months, and if termites are present, a bait is applied and the stations are checked monthly until the activity stops. This |

provides a far higher level of protection than a mere once per year inspection. |
This dual level of protection greatly reduces the risk of reinfestation in the years following the primary treatment. Termites are relentless, constantly seeking to penetrate into any wood source. With the Gen-Ex dual treatment, you can rest assured as hard as the termites are working to come in, we are working even harder to keep them out.
